Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a compressive.tensile strain detecting sensor which detects generated strain on a rotating body when compressive or tensile force works onto the rotating body, highly accurately and without any direct contact to the rotating body. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic body layer 3 consisting of a soft magnetic material of which magnetic permeability changes according to compressive force or tensile force, is fixed to a rotating body 1, and a detecting coil 7 is arranged at an outer circumferential part of the rotating body 1 so as to surround the magnetic body layer 3. A yoke 8 is arranged at a circumferential part thereof to form a magnetic circuit between the magnetic body layer 3 and the yoke, and therewith changes of the magnetic permeability caused by strain, are detected as output voltage of the detecting coil 7.
