Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To produce a performed body for ceramic fiber-reinforced metal matrix composite free from reaction with molten metal and increased in mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION:Small amount of aluminum borate grains is added to a fiber reinforcement, and the resulting mixture is compacted. The resulting green compact is heated at high temp., by which aluminum borate is sintered. By this method, the fiber performed body for metal matrix composite increased in mechanical strength at high temp. can be obtained.
