description PURPOSE:To accurately calibrate the concn. of ozone by using a calibration filter formed using synthetic quartz glass as a base material and having the absorbancy corresponding to that in specific ozone concn. and pervious to light having a specific wavelength as a standard gas or solution. CONSTITUTION:A calibration filter 2 composed of synthetic quartz glass whose absorbancy corresponds to that of ozone water is irradiated with the light V0 emitted from a light source 1 and the transmitted light is applied to a sample cell 3. The filter 2 permits only light having the wavelength almost same to the max. absorbing band wavelength of specific ozone to pass and reference water and sample water are allowed to cyclically flow to the cell 3 by a change-over valve 12. The light passing through the cell 3 passes through a wavelength selecting filter 4 to be photoelectrically converted by a signal converting part 5. This signal is amplified to a predetermined level by an electric signal amplifying part 6 and operated according to the Lambert- Beer's in a signal processing part 7 and the operation result is displayed or recorded on a display part 8. By this constitution, the concn. of ozone can be accurately calibrated without being affected by a stable property such as a half-life by providing the filter 2.
