PURPOSE:To provide the title strongbox wherein detection-indicating means are actuated by signals, a person's attention is called thereto, whether articles exist in the strongbox is recognized from outside, and satisfactory results can be obtained as prevention against forgotten articles. CONSTITUTION:Respective window parts 12 are formed at the lower end parts of both side walls 11, 11 in the title strongbox, in the direction of its depth and pairs of article detectors 4, each of which consists of a combination of a light-emitting element 41 and a light-receiving element 42, are separately located at the positions of the window parts 12, facing to each other. Respective detection-indicating means such as detecting lamps, CRTs, etc., are connected to the detectors 4. If articles exist in the strongbox, the light from the light- emitting element 41 is interrupted by the article forgotten and does not reach the light-receiving elements 42, and the detectors 4 corresponding thereto make signals of the existence of the articles.
