UNRAILED OVERHEAD CONVEYOR SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To move a conveyor system, conveying a conveyed work between both start and end points preset, at high speed and easily alterable in the conveyor route. CONSTITUTION:This overhead conveyor system is provided with a first unrailed self-propelled conveyor 1 with a magnetic attraction mechanism 3, a position detection mechanism 5 and a position control signal generator 6, a second conveyor 2 with another magnetic attraction mechanism 4 and a conveyed work holding mechanism 11, a ceiling plate 7 lying between these first and second conveyors 1 and 2, and a marker 9 on the said ceiling plate 7. In addition, it has a position signal receiving part 15 on the second conveyor 2, a control unit 2a controlling a position of the second conveyor 2 so as to be followed after a position of the first unrailed self-propelled conveyor 1, a control unit 1a for the whole system and another control unit 2b for the conveyed work holding mechanism 11, respectively.
