Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enable the specification of a DNA base sequence with good reproducibility, above all a genetic DNA derived from a bacterium, the easy classification and identification of the bacteria and wide utilization in a field of chemistry, medicines, foods, electronics (high-density integrated circuits), environment, etc., requiring rapid detection of polluting or useful bacteria. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for specifying a DNA base sequence is characterized by amplifying a DNA base sequence according to polymerase chain reaction (PCR), cleaving the resultant DNA base sequence with a specific restriction enzyme, then separating the cleaved fragments by a desired separating means, providing separation patterns of the cleaved DNA fragments and specifying the DNA base sequence using the separation patterns of the cleaved DNA fragments as an index. Furthermore, a microorganism is classified or identified by using the method.
