description | PURPOSE:To convert a scanning pattern obtained by an optical scanning device for which a cup-type polygon mirror is used to a large number and a multiazimuth. CONSTITUTION:The optical scanning device is constituted of a planar mirror 2 positioned on a center shaft 1, and also, inclined and arranged against the center shaft 1, and a polygon mirror 3 which consists of a cone-shaped member arranged concentrically so as to surround the center shaft 1, and is provided with plural pieces of reflecting surfaces 4 along its inner peripheral surface. A light beam made incident through the plane mirror 2 is reflected successively by plural pieces of reflecting surfaces 4 and a scanning pattern is formed around the center shaft 1. This device is provided with a first driving means 5 for driving to rotate the planar mirror 2 at a high speed by using the center shaft 1 as a rotary shaft, and a second driving means 6 for driving to rotate simultaneously the polygon mirror 3 at a low speed by using the center shaft 1 as a rotary shaft in the same manner. By rotating simultaneously both mirrors, innumerable and multiazimuth scanning patterns are obtained. |
