description | PURPOSE:To reduce the variability of characteristics induced by heat treatment temperature variations of a flexible printed wiring board by heating electrically a conductor in a heating and curing process. CONSTITUTION:Copper-made electrodes 4 are mounted to an aluminum core and the outer end of a board. Then, this roll is loaded into a vacuum curing furnace 5. The furnace is vacuumed up to a pressure of 1Torr and then the roll is heated up to 359 deg.C, raising the temperature in 4 hours. During the heating operation, electric current of 4.04V and 31.3A is adapted to flow in the roll. A heater in the furnace inner wall is controlled so that the furnace inner wall temperature may be identical to that of the central part of the roll. The heating operation is halted when the temperature of the outermost part of the roll has reached the temperature of 350 deg.C and subjected to natural cooling. This construction makes it possible to manufacture flexible printed wiring boards which are free of quality variability to an extremely satisfactory extent. |
