Each picked-up face image signal is converted to a digital signal S1 and S2 by an A/D converter 2 and 3, and thereafter, applied to an arithmetic processing part 1. Based on the face image signal S1 of the front, a screen 19 is obtained. Also, based on the face image signal S2 of the side, a screen 20 is obtained. The screen 19 and the screen 20 are caught as an image obtained by projecting the face image of the front to the (x)-(y) plane, and an image obtained by projecting the face image of the side to the (y)-(z) place, respectively. That is, the axes of coordinate (x), (y) and (z) are set, and (y) coordinate values of the corresponding points in the front image and the side image coincide with each other.
