SYSTEM STARTING METHOD

PURPOSE:To display the effect of a cache memory and to shorten the time for starting the system, based on information of a data input at the time of starting the system in the previous time as a reference. CONSTITUTION:The system is constituted of a system start control means 1, an auxiliary storage controller 2, a cache memory 3, an input/output control means 4, a cache memory read-in processing means, an input sequence table 6, an unused cache management table 7, etc. Each entry corresponds to the issue sequence of a data input request issued from the system start control means 1. Items extending from a data access position 63 to an in-cache data size 67 correspond to a data input request issued by the previour system start, and the present data access position 68 and the present data size 69 correspond to a data input request issued by the present system start. In such a way, at the time of system start, the cache memory 3 is utilized effectively and the start time can be shortened.
