Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To imrrove the strength of a tubular member without cutting its structure by forming the outer circumferential wall part of the tubular member through plastic working nearly into a U shape, then, ironing it through spinning in a width direction. CONSTITUTION:A rim stock forming die 1 is rotated to press the circumferential wall surface of the tubular member A by a rotary pressing tool 2. Thereupon, the section of the tubular member A is formed nearly into a U shape and a rim stock 3 of a vehicle wheel is formed. Then, when the rim stock 3 is ironed by a rotary pressing tool 5 along the forming surfaces of mandrels 41, 42 to the outward side as a mandrel device 4 is rotated round an axial center, the rim (see the figure of an imaginary line) R of the vehicle wheel is spun. When this forming method is used, the rim of the vehicle wheel higher in strength than before can be obtained.
