When the counted value exceeds a predetermined value, the presence of the printing information is determined and a mark (character detection information) is stored in a character information memory 21. A line deciding processor 4 checks up the presence of the mark (character detection information) stored in the memory 21 from a blank line in a passbook 40 to a line direction having the printing information, so as to decide a line to be printed lastly in the passbook 40.
