description | PURPOSE:To produce the subject coated paper excellent in printability and processability of coating and useful for magazines, etc., by charging a prescribed detergent solution to a washing doctor unit, applying a specified coating composition to a base paper while washing the backing roll surface and uniforming migration. CONSTITUTION:In production of a coated paper 8 using a one-side coater in which a washing doctor 5 is attached to the backing roll 2, a coating composition 4 containing (A), as the pigment, one containing a pigment (e.g. kaolin) having 0.1-0.3mum average particle size in an amount of 5-50 wt.% based on the whole pigment and (B), as the adhesive, an SBR copolymer latex having 0.07-0.13mum average particle size and 9.5-11 solubility parameter is used and applied to a base paper 1 while the surface of the backing roll 2 is washed by pouring a washing solution 6 containing a pigment and having 0.05-30wt.% content of solid matter into the washing doctor unit 5. The objective coated paper 8 can be obtained thereby. |
