description | PURPOSE:To maintain flight altitude in a fixed altitude range with simple construction by oscillatably supporting forward and backward an altitude detecting rod of which the extreme end is touched to the ground or the water surface below the airframe of a ram wing airplane with the airframe, and changing output of an engine according to the oscillating angle of this rod. CONSTITUTION:A ram wing airplane flying right over the ground or the water surface utilizing the ground effect, is provided with a pilot set 2 on the forward part of an airframe 1 having a main wing 3, a vertical tail 4, a horizontal tail 5, and a float 20, and an engine 6 on the backward part of the pilot seat is provided with a propeller 7 facing backward. An operating lever 12 to adjust the throttle opening of the engine 6 is provided on the pilot seat 2, and the lever 12 is connected with the upper end of a compound link 14 through a link 13. The base end of an altitude detecting rod 8 is supported with the lower part of the airframe 1 through an oscillating shaft 10 so as to be oscillatable forward and backward against the airframe 1, and oscillating movement of the rod 8 can be transmitted to the compound link 14 through a lever 11 and a link 18. |
