INSPECTING METHOD FOR INTERIOR OF CABLE CONNECTION PART

PURPOSE:To inspect the inside of an OF cable connection part in the operating state and to reliably judge the presence/absence of an abnormality of the connection part, by bringing a probe into touch with the outer peripheral surface of the OF cable connection part, letting ultrasonic waves into the connection part, and reading the echoing degree and the time difference by means of a defect detector. CONSTITUTION:A probe 2 is made to abut on an outer peripheral surface of an OF cable connection part 1 sequentially in the circumferential direction, and perpendicular or oblique ultrasonic waves are introduced into the OF cable connection part 1. The echoing degree and the time difference are read by a defect detector 3. The data is processed into a sectional view and an elevational view by a CPU 4, thereby to inspect the presence/absence of an abnormality of the connection part 1. Accordingly, it becomes possible to inspect the interior of the OF cable coupling part in the operating state, and moreover considerably positively judge the presence/absence of an abnormality of the connection part 1.
