DAY AIR GENERATOR

PURPOSE:To simplify a heater for regenerating a desiccant by using the circular cylindrical desiccant consisting of a honeycomb constituting body of exothermic ceramics, bringing electrodes into contact with both end faces of the desiccant and electrifying these electrodes, thereby heating the deciccant. CONSTITUTION:The desiccant 20 is formed by sintering synthetic zeolite, etc., to the surface of the cylindrical honeycomb of the ceramics, such as silicon carbide, which generates heat when energized. This desiccant is fitted into a cylindrical container and is made rotatable continuously or intermittently around its central axis. This container is segmented to respective zones 20a to 20c for defumidifying, cooling and reproducing. The meshed electrodes 21a, 21b in contact with both end faces of the desiccant 20 are provided in the regenerating and reheating zone 20c and are energized to heat and regenerate the desiccant 20. The container is then rotationally moved and the air is passed and cooled in the cooling zone 20b. The air from the blower 9, etc., is defumidified in the dehumidifying zone 20a and is sent to a treating chamber 3. The treating chamber 3 can be heated by microwaves, etc.
