Namely, when the plant events and the important plant events are detected during the operation of the plant, the plant events are displayed with icons 2, 3 and 6. The data of each part of the plant 21 are inputted into an input interface 23 of the plant monitoring apparatus on-line and processed in an operating part 25 in accordance with the programs stored in a built-in memory 26 in an electronic computer 24. The processed data are displayed on the CRT 29 by the instructions from a keyboard 27 and a touch sensor 28.
