Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To attain normal reproducing of specified data at the time of reproducing for high speed tape traveling by setting a specified operational mode of high speed tape traveling by a control means, and sampling and processing only the reproduced signal of a specified track. CONSTITUTION:On normal operation mode, the sampling means 112 samples by time-sharing method the reproduced output of signals each being recorded on plural tracks. At the time of high speed tape traveling, specified operational mode only the reproduced signals of specified tracks among the plural number of tracks are sampled. The signal process means 113 processes the data sampled by the sampling means 112. The control means 8 sets the normal operational mode or specified operational mode for the sampling means 112 and signal processing means 113. Thereby, specified data can be normally reproduced on reproducing at high speed tape traveling.
