INFORMATION CODING/DECODING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out adaptive processing of coding/ decoding excluding the redundancy of the unit section and using least hardware by installing the first through fourth signal changeover sections, and by switching between an output image signal and an input image signal arbitrarily to carry out image processing. CONSTITUTION:A changeover section 1 is for selecting either one of input image signal and processed output image signal, a changeover section 11 is for switching between the record processing mode and the regeneration processing mode, and they are all under the control of a systemcontrol section 12. In the record processing mode, the changeover section 11 is switched to the side of coding section 6, and changeover sections 17 and 20 are switched to the side of frame memory 15, by a subtractor 4, a signal A recorded in frame memory 15 is subtracted from an input image signal B, and a result is recorded in a memory 8. In the regenerating mode, changeover sections 11, 17, and 20 are all switched to the opposite side, and a signal recorded in the memory 8 is input to an adder 5, where an image signal A stored in frame memory 16 is added, thereby outputting a signal B.
