MANUFACTURE OF TONER FOR STATIC CHARGE IMAGE DEVELOPING

PURPOSE:To obtain a toner with an excellent ambient stability by polymerizing a polymeric vinyl monomer to compose a binder resin and a monomer mixture including a colorant in a mixture dispersion medium made by mixing a specific amount of water and methanol. CONSTITUTION:A polymeric vinyl monomer to compose a binder resin and a monomer mixture including at least a colorant are polymerized in a mixture dispersion medium in which a hard water-soluble inorganic substance powder is used as a dispersant, and 20 to 80wt.% of water and 80 to 20wt.% of methanol are mixed. As a result, a minute particle toner with uniform particle diameter of the mean particle diameter 10mum or smaller suitable for forming a high resolution image can be manufactured economically. Furthermore, the particle diameter can be controlled by only changing the mixing ratio of the water and the methanol, and no special dispersant is necessary to use. Consequently, the ambient stability of the toner obtained in such a way is excellent.
