MOLD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To reduce temp. unevenness on surface of a copper plate of the side in contact with molten steel in continuous casting mold by packing low m.p. metal into space formed with a bolt connecting the copper plate and a back plate and a bolt inserting part. CONSTITUTION:The bolt 4 passing through bolt inserting hole 9 from outside of the back plate 2 is fastened into a female screw in a screw bush 3 to combine the copper plate 1 and back plate 2. In this case, before fastening the bolt 4, the low m.p. metal 6 worked to shape corresponding to space in the bolt inserting part 8 in the copper plate 1 is charged and further this is packed into the space at the time of combining the copper plate 1 and the back plate 2 by fastening the bolt 4. By this method, the low m.p. metal 6 is melted during continuous casting, and heat conductivity in the space parts is improved and the temp. unevenness on the side of the surface of copper plate 1 in contact with the molten steel is reduced.
