TUMOR TREATING DRUGS CAPABLE OF BLOCKING ITS GROWTH DUE TO PROTEIN TGF BETA

PURPOSE: To obtain a medicinal agent for curing an estrogen receptor-positive mammary cancer by including gestodene and antiestrogen. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal agent for curing tumors which are inhibited from their growth by protein TGFβ comprises (A) gestodene (17-ethynyl-17β- hydroxy-18-methyl-4,15-estradien-3-one) or other steroids having a 15,16-double bond and (B) antiestrogen selected from a competing estrogen antagonist (e.g. nonsteroid-based tamoxifen, steroid-based 16β-ethylestradiol) and a compound capable of inhibiting a biosynthesis of estrogen (an aromatase inhibitor) by aromatizing a corresponding nonaromatic precursor, e.g. 1-methyl-androsta-1,4- diene-3,17-dione in the ratio of A:B=(1:15)-(50:1), especially (1:15)-(15:1). One administration unit preferably contains 0.5-50mg of gestodene and 5-100mg of tamoxifen.
