DRUG COMPOSITION HAVING INHIBITORY ACTION ON ALDOSE REDUCTASE AND EXCELLENT ABSORPTION

PURPOSE:To obtain a drug composition useful for preventing and treating diabetic complication, having inhibitory action on aldose reductase and excellent absorption, containing an optically active hydantoin derivative. CONSTITUTION:A drug composition containing an optically active hydantoin derivative shown by the formula [W is halogenomethyl, 1H-tetrazol-5-yl, COOR (R is H, alkyl, etc.), etc.; X is O or S; Y and Z are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylmercapto] as an active ingredient. The compound is uniformly dispersed into a polymer carrier (e.g. sugars or sugaralcohols) and further properly with a common additive for preparation and pharmaceutically manufactured by a conventional procedure to give the aimed substance. More preferably the substance is mixed with a water-soluble polymer substance (e.g. hydroxypropyl cellulose). Consequently, the drug composition has raised durability of immediate effect and medicinal effects.
