description PURPOSE:To secure a correct posture of an objective lens without inclination of an optical axis by supporting the objective lens with elastic bodies in approximately the same force at the time of their moving in the vertical and horizontal directions. CONSTITUTION:The objective lens 5 is given driving force in the vertical direction and the horizontal direction by making a current flow in coils 15a and 15b respectively, thus enabling laser light to converge correctly on a recording medium surface W. In this case, for example, when the objective lens 5 is moved to the right, right and left elastic couples 9 and 9 in the moving direction are moved in the same direction by the same amt. Then, since a distance c from a fixing part 9a to a fixing part 9a of the left elastic couple 9 and a distance d from a fixing part 9a to a fixing part 9a of the right elastic couple 9 are in juxtaposition, they are always constant, and hence no differences take place in tension force on the upper surface side and the lower surface side of individual elastic bodies 9 and 9. By this method, the posture of the objective lens 5 is correctly secured to obtain the optical axis without its inclination.
