description PURPOSE:To use a memory card as the substitute of a floppy disk without changing conventional control software by providing the information processor with a memory card controller to make data between the memory card and a main storage transferable. CONSTITUTION:The memory card controller 9 is constituted so as to have the same function as a floppy disk controller. Namely, a data reading or writing command reads/writes data in the memory areas of memory cards 10 to 13 from addresses formed by a circuit for converting ID information applied from a host CPU 2 into addresses corresponding to the memory areas of the memory cards 10 to 13. A reading ID or a sense interrupting status command for reading out ID information reads out the memory addresses obtained at the time of generating the command from the memory cards 10 to 13, and forms the ID information by an address conversion circuit based upon the read addresses. Consequently, the memory cards can be used similarly to conventional floppy disks.
