LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To compensate for or repair a defect caused by a shortcircuit by wiring two video signal lines together as a pair and by forming an additional capacity between the scanning signal line and the picture element electrode. CONSTITUTION:The additional capacity Cadd is formed between the picture element electrode and the scanning signal line adjacent to it; pairs of video signal lines are connected to common terminals XiG, XiB, XiR,..., one pair to one common terminal, and a part enclosed with an alternate short and dash line is driven as one picture element. Thus, even if the video signal line is disconnected, for example, at a part (b), a signal voltage is supplied to every TFT connected to the said video signal line, therefore it does not become defective; when there is a shortcircuit between the scanning signal line and the video signal line, for example, at a part S1, the defect can be removed by cutting at parts X, which are above and below the part S1, by means of a laser, etc.
