CAULKING METHOD

PURPOSE:To perform accurate positioning and caulking by setting guide pins, a brush supporting mechanism and a temporary caulking punch inside a cutting punch, installing temporary caulking dowels on a body to be caulked and caulking them. CONSTITUTION:When an upper die is lowered, a pilot pin 26 is lowered and a brush hoop 19 is positioned. Then, the guide pins 17 pass through caulking holes 19c of the brush 19b and strike against main caulking dowels 23 of a body 30 to be caulked and stop. The brush hoop 19 is supported by a supporting plate 20 so that it is not brought downward by the guide pins 17. When the guide pins 17 strike against the dowels 23, an upper die 11 stops falling down and the supporting plate 20 slides and moves. Hereafter, the upper die 11 begins falling again, the brush hoop 19b is cut by a cutting punch 18 and a cutting die 28 from the brush hoop 19 and the brush 19b sucked to vacuum holes 31 at the outlets of guide pins 17 of cutting punches 18 is carried as far as a prescribed position. The temporary caulking dowels 24 of a body 30 to be caulked are caulked by a temporary caulking punch 15. In this way, the brush 19b is fixed temporarily to the body 30 to be caulked and the main caulking can be performed easily by crushing the main caulking dowels 23.
