description PURPOSE:To obtain the subject new fiber imparted with cationic dyeability by using a conjugate fiber composed of cellulose acetate and a specific copolymerized polyester arranged in such a manner as to be exposed on the fiber surface and specifying the weight ratio of the components on the cross-section of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A fiber preferably having a blended-type conjugate structure is produced from (A) a cellulose acetate and (B) a copolymerized polyester scarcely soluble in water, soluble in methylene chloride and produced by copolymerizing 3-20mol% of 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate (preferably having an average molecular weight of 2,000-25,000). The fiber contains the copolymerized polyester arranged in a state exposed to the surface of the fiber and the weight ratio of the copolymerized polyester on the cross-section of the fiber is 5-50%.
