The magnetic flux from the adjacent bits is absorbed by the magnetic material layer 2 or 3 for shielding and does not arrive at the MR elements if the l1 and l2 are set longer than b (max. bit length of the magnetic medium). The induced electromotive force of the MR element parts is prevented by regulating the shape of the shielding layers in this way.
