A lead positioning section C shifts the leads 1a and 1b to a coil lead clamping jig section H after positioning and clamping the leads 1a and 1b while the coil 1 is on the winding shaft. An inserting head section E holds the leads 1a and 1b and inserts them into holes 2a and 2b in the base plate 2. Therefore, the mechanism of this device can be simplified and, at the same time, the reliability of this device in the coil positioning and inserting works can be improved, because the necessity of separating and arranging works which have been required for the conventional such kind of device from a disintegrated state of coils is eliminated.
