description PURPOSE:To decrease Barkhausen noises and to obtain a higher output by forming a conductor layer in such a manner as to overlap partly on a magneto- resistance effect element and inclining the magnetic field generated by the current to be conducted to the conductor layer with respect to a track width direction. CONSTITUTION:A thin film of a NiFe alloy is formed on a substrate 21 and is worked to a rectangular strip shape to form electrodes 2 for energization and signal detection. An Al2O3 film is then deposited as an electrical insulating layer 22 on the magneto-resistance effect element part and an electrode layer 23 for impressing bias magnetic fields is formed on an insulating film 22. The magnetic field direction generated in a bias magnetic field generating section is inclined obliquely with the track width direction of the magneto-resistance effect type element. The Barkhausen noise occurring in the instability of the structure of magnetic domains is prevented in this way and the high output is obtd.
