COMPACT SORTER

PURPOSE: To accommodate copying sheets of paper accurately by forming a slot liner vertically at each side plate of a sorter body, folding that part of each slot liner which is located within the rotation radius of a transfer wheel to the side with sheet exhaust part of the body of copying machine, and locating an upward projecting part of a bin tray at the end right under a sheet exhaust roller. CONSTITUTION: When the copying operation is executed in the condition that a bin tray 3a in the initial condition, i.e., at the uppermost position, is positioned at a certain point P in the folded part of each slot liner 1 and an upward protruding plate 3b of the bin tray is stopped at the bottom right under a sheet exhaust roller 5, the copying sheet for the first page is guided to the roller 5 and accommodated in stack on the bin tray 3a advanced to a step right under the roller 5. At this time, a motor is actuated, and a transfer wheel 2 is rotated counterclockwise, so that the tray 3a rotates the wheel 2 in such a condition as bitten by a slot 2a in the wheel 2 and rises following a left-inclined upper path in the folded part of the liner 1, reaches the point of displacement P1 , and separates from the slot 2a, and at the same time, tray intrusion is made into a slot 2a on the opposite side.
