description PURPOSE: To improve the adhesiveness of an electric charge generating layer to an electroconductive metallic substrate, e.g. aluminized polyester substrate by coating an electroconductive electrode element with one or more layers each contg. a specified polyester-carbonate copolymer. CONSTITUTION: This photoconductive recording material has an electroconductive electrode element coated with one or more layers each contg. one or more kinds of polyester-carbonate copolymers. In each of the copolymers, arom. carbonate units represented by formula I exist by 10-48mol% of the amt. of the copolymer and arom. ester units represented by formula II, etc., exist by 52-90mol%. The wt. average mol.wt. of each of the copolymers is 120,000-1,000,000. In the formulae I, II, X is S, SO2 , etc., and each of R -R is H, halogen, alkyl or aryl. Satisfactory wear resistance and high photosensitivity are ensured and the adhesiveness of an electric charge generating layer to the electrode element adjacent to the layer can be improved.
