description PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a pilot signal for distortion compensation adjustment by calculating the frequency of intermodulation distortion generated in a common amplifier section from the channel number and the number of channels during transmission, monitoring the output of the channel not in transmission and controlling a distortion compensation circuit when the distortion exceeds a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A controller is provided with a means 2 calculating the frequency of intermodulation distortion generated in a common amplifier section 3 from the channel number and the number of channels of a transmitter making transmission, a means 5 monitoring the output of a channel generating the distortion at a channel not making transmission and a means 2 controlling a distortion compensation circuit when the distortion exceeds the specified value to control the distortion to be the specified value or below. Thus, the pilot signal for the distortion compensation adjustment of the amplification section 3 is not required and the distortion compensation control in the communication state is attained.
