description PURPOSE:To improve the product quality of rolled stocks by increasing a speed in a stand before a finish stand than that in the finish stand by a compensation amount between a time from run-out at a front stand to run-out at the stand before finish stand. CONSTITUTION:At detecting run-out of a rolled stock 1 at a front stand C by a sensor 7c, a finish stand A and a stand B before the finish stand are kept at a constant number of rotations by a control keeping signal S4 and loop control is stopped by a signal S5. Concurrently, only the stand B is compensated for a set speed value by a 'compensation on' signal S6 and the stand B increases its speed compared with the stand A. Therefore, the stock 1 being in a position between the stands A, B is subjected to a force in the compressive direction. At the time of detecting run-out at the stand B by a sensor 7b, the speed of the stand B is returned to a former speed by a 'compensation off' signal S7. When run-out at the stand A is detected by a sensor 7a, speed control of the stand A is returned. Hence, generation of irregularly shaped parts is prevented and the product quality is improved because no tension acts between the stands A, B.
