description | PURPOSE:To sharply reduce environment contaminating substances contained in waste gas without damaging the performance of a diesel engine and make the best use of waste heat by providing a catalytic layer, as well as a plurality of burners, and installing a whirling blade in order to improve the mixture between waste gas and combustion air. CONSTITUTION:A combustion chamber 3 is provided with a waste gas intake pipe 9 designed to introduce waste gas through a line 2. Inside the waste gas intake pipe 9 is installed a whirling blade 10 so as to improve the mixture between waste gas, fuel, and combustion air. The combustion chamber 3 is provided with a burner 11 near a mounting port of the waste gas intake pipe 9 and a catalytic layer designed to purify the nitrogen oxides at the tip. The waste gas discharged from a diesel engine 1 is introduced into the combustion chamber 3 by way of the waste gas line 2. Both the fuel and the air are supplied to the combustion chamber 3 by way of the pipelines 4 and 5. The waste gas thus burnt is transferred to a boiler 7 by way of the catalytic layer 6 and heat recovered, then discharged into the open air passing through a furnace tube 8. |
