Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To form a side hole opening round on the outer surface by a method wherein the side wall of a catheter is grasped with a side hole forming member and a mandrel and pierced with the side hole forming member through a high frequency overheating. CONSTITUTION:A blanking blade 11 is got abutting on the outer surface of a thermoplastic resin catheter 10 while a mandrel 13 is abutted against the inner surface thereof and an output terminal of a high frequency oscillator 16 is connected to the blanking blade 11. The side wall of the catheter 10 is grasped with the blade 11 and the mandrel 13 and then, blanked with the blade 11 as melted softly by a high frequency heating to open the side hole. The periphery of the side hole on the side of the outer surface is made round.
