STRAIGHT MOTION GUIDE APPARATUS AND SCALE RECORDING METHOD FOR GUIDE AXIS THEREOF

PURPOSE:To execute the positioning with high accuracy and to miniaturize the apparatus by providing a scale on the outside peripheral surface of a guide axis, and providing a reading means on a moving body. CONSTITUTION:When a rotation axis 11 of a motor 10 is rotated by a command of a CPU 8, the rotational motion is transferred to a bush 3 through a gear 12, other gear 14 and a rack 15, and the bush 3 moves on a guide axis 2 in the direction as indicated with an arrow B or C. Also, since the bush 3 is guided by a groove 2b through a steel ball 3b, it does not rotate against the guide axis 2 but moves linearly. Subsequently, a reading means fixed to the bush 3 moves in the direction as indicated with the arrow B or C together with the bush 3, therefore, it reads one after another a scale 5 provided on the outside peripheral surface 2a of the guide axis 2 and sends out a signal. This signal controls a position of the bush 3 by controlling a rotation of the motor 10, based on a result of an operation processing executed by the CPU 8 in accordance with a prescribed procedure.
