description PURPOSE:To comparatively freely make a stable, clear, and deep sound from the title instrument and to industrially produce the instrument by forming a striking part using a ceramic material having a specific porosity. CONSTITUTION:The striking part is formed using the ceramic material having 0.1-50% porosity. Here, when the porosity is under 0.1%, the sound from the striking part becomes the one lacking in warmth like a sound from a metallic percussion instrument, and when the porosity is over 50% to the contrary, the sound from the striking part becomes the one having a short trailing note and unsatisfactory reverberations. Therefore, the porosity in both the above two cases is unsuitable. Further, when 20-50% porosity out of the above- mentioned 0.1-50% porosity range is adopted, it is specially preferable since the sound having beautiful reverberations peculiar to ceramics and an appropriate trailing note can be obtained. Thus, the stable, clear, and deep sound can be made comparatively freely, and the instrument can be produced industrially.
