PREVENTING METHOD FOR SPREADING-FIRE OF GROUPED CABLE

PURPOSE:To prevent the fire of a grouped cable from spreading by a method wherein, when the cable is on fire, a signal detected by a fire detector is transmitted to a controller, a pump is started by its signal, pistons are retracted, the cable is cut by a cutter fitted at the rod end of each piston, and the space between the cut cables is shut by the cutter. CONSTITUTION:A box-shaped body 2 is placed at a specified position on the line of a grouped cable 1 bundling several cables. A part of the cable 1 is longitudinally inserted through the box-shaped body 2, two cylinders 3 are separately mounted on the under surface of the box-shaped body 2, and a cutter 4 is fitted at the rod end of each piston 3a of the cylinders. When the cable is on fire, a signal detected by a fire detector 7 is transmitted to a controller 8. A pump 9 starts by the controlling signal of the controller, sucks the air in the cylinder and makes the cylinder under vacuum. Each piston 3a is then retracted, the cutter 4 cuts the cable and shuts the space between the cut-cables. It is thus possible to prevent the fire from spreading.
