FILM PRINTER

PURPOSE:To attain copying with high quality magnification and transmission of picture information to a remote location through a subscriber telephone line by providing a buffer storage means between a picture read means and a transmission means. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal read by a linear picture sensor 1 for facsimile equipment at an equal speed by the equal speed scanning of the optical system is compressed sequentially in real time by compression processing means 4 and the compressed picture data subject to compression processing is stored tentatively in a buffer memory 6. Then the compressed picture data is extracted asynchronizingly in a timing retarded from the reading from the buffer memory 6 and the data is sent to a subscribed telephone line via a MODEM (MOD) 9 and a network controller (NCU) 10. Thus, the magnified picture is sent by a communication time and a cost equal to those of a conventional independent facsimile equipment. Furthermore, in case of executing the copying and transmission of a microfilm at the same time, the compressed picture data is fetched in the buffer memory 6 at the same speed as the copying speed and the data is extracted and sent in matching with the transfer speed at the facsimile equipment side.
