CONSTITUTION: A device to bend wire groups supplied in parallel to each other in a zigzag manner using a rail 83 provided with wire deflector pins at intervals equivalent to the intervals of the wires is provided on the both side of a grid manufacturing surface. The wire groups to be symmetrically bent on the both side of the surface are formed and the rail 83 of each bending device is alternately moved by a control device in the opposite direction to each other. Each rail 83 is pivotably attached to the end part of a holding arm 84 turnable around an axis 85 perpendicular to the grid manufacturing surface and the axis 85 approximately coincides with the center M of the contact circle of an involute depicted by a wire D contacting with wire deflector pins 86a, 86b of the adjacent rails 83. Corrugated head parts of the adjacent wires are connected to each other through welding, etc., on the downstream side of the bending device. Thus, the sliding of the wire against the wire deflector pins during the bending process of the wires is avoided to prevent the breakage, etc., of the wires.
