MANUFACTURE OF PHENOL RESIN FOAM

PURPOSE:To manufacture efficiently an excellent foaming material without depending on atmospheric temperature by stirring resol type phenol resin, foaming agent and curing agent in a mixing chamber with heated air being injected, after that, by discharging it toward the surface of a basement member from an outlet. CONSTITUTION:The phenol resin, foaming agent and curing agent are pressedly sent into the mixing chamber 1 through respective force feed hoses 4a, 5a, 6a. After each material is pressedly sent at a certain quantity from each vessel 4, 5, 6 and introduced into the mixing chamber 1, stirring mixture is performed by driving a motor 3 arranged at the upper part of the mixing chamber 1 so as to rotate an impeller attached in the mixture chamber 1. At the same time, the air form the outer part is heated by 50-70 deg.C by means of a heating unit 10 and then the heated air is sent into the mixing chamber 1 through a conduit 9. By this manner, each material is stirringly mixed under the heated air atmosphere in the mixing chamber 1. Subsequently, the foam mixture done with desired foaming degree, viscosity or the like is discharged toward the surface of the basement member 8 from the outlet 7 of the mixing chamber 1. Thus, the stirring efficiency may be suitable and the reaction speed may be improved.
