PURPOSE:To accurately perform desired image editing with high efficiency by attaching a color designating function, a color density designating function, and a magnification designating function other than an area designating function on a digitizer. CONSTITUTION:Each color component of color picture information on an original 1 is read by CCDs (4...6), and their output are inputted to a color correction and color separation circuit 16 via A/D converters (7...9) and gate circuits (13...15), respectively. Color code data from the color correction and color separation circuit 18 is inputted to a multivalue forming means 21 via a color ghost correction circuit 17, an MTF correction circuit 18, a color data selection circuit 19, and a variable power circuit 20, and multivalued output is sent to an image output device 27 via an I/F circuit 26. The area designation, color designation, magnification designation, and density adjustment of an image outputted from the image output device 27 are performed by the digitizer via a CPU.
