PURPOSE:To allow a photographer to take a countermeasure instantly by detecting the presence of movement between pickup patterns and giving warning of a blur of a camera. CONSTITUTION:An output of a pickup element 10 is digitized by an A/D converter 24, a storage data in a picture memory 26 is read out and a subtraction circuit 28 calculates difference between picture data corresponding to the same sampling point. Then a movement detection circuit 32 obtains differences of all picture sampling points from the subtraction circuit 28 to detect the presence of the movement according to a prescribed movement detection algorithm. When the 'presence' of movement is discriminated, blur of camera is warned to a photographer by means of a lamp or sound.
