A photosensitive, colour-photographic silver halide material with at least one photosensitive silver halide layer associated with a conventional diffusion-resistant colour coupler and, if appropriate, further photosensitive and non-photosensitive layers, wherein the at least one photosensitive silver halide layer contains, in a concentration from 10 to 10 mmol/mol of silver halide, a compound of the formula A-Z-K (I> adsorbed on the silver halide grain, in which A is a grain-active adhesion group, Z is a divalent bridge member and K is a group which reacts with the developer oxidation product to give a coloured or colourless product, which compound adheres to the silver halide grain and reacts with the developer oxidation product at an effective reaction rate constant keff >/= 10 , shows an improved sensitivity/graininess ratio.
