Consequently, the deposition of scale between the electrodes 13 and 18 in an electrolysis zone 19 is prevented. The brine emitted from between the electrodes 13 and 18 is decreased in the flow velocity and the gaseous hydrogen is separated in the form of bubbles therefrom; thereafter, the brine falls along the inside surface of the gasket 14. Such a slope 20 as to continuously decrease the width from the upper part toward the bottom of the electrolytic chamber 15 is provided on the inside surface of the gasket 14 and, therefore, the flow velocity of the brine in the bottom of the above-mentioned chamber 15 increases again. Consequently, the deposition of the precipitate in the bottom of the above-mentioned chamber 15 is prevented as well.
