PURPOSE:To complete the drying operation of a clothings drying machine within an ideal drying time by deciding the required drying time by means of a drying time deciding means from a temperature difference and the variation of the temperature difference against the time. CONSTITUTION:A variation detecting means 9 detects the variation of a temperature difference stored in a temperature difference storing means 6 against the time and inputs its output to a drying time deciding means 10, and the means 10 decides necessary drying time from the output of the means 9 and the temperature difference, and inputs its output to a control section 11. In other words, the drying time deciding means 10 decides the necessary drying time from the temperature difference between the temperature detected by a pre-cooling temperature detecting means 4 and the temperature detected by a post-cooling temperature detecting means 5 and the variation of the temperature against the time. Therefore, ideal drying time can be decided against clothings 14 to be dried in a drying chamber 13 and the drying operation can be completed even when the moisture content of the clothings 14 is low at the time of starting the drying operation.
