Zusammenfassung:To provide a method for producing an aromatic hydroxy compound at a high selection rate and high yield compared with a conventional producing method.SOLUTION: A method for producing an aromatic hydroxy compound comprising a step of contacting a silicate (A) containing a metal element selected from the group consisting of groups 3-5 and 13-15 of the periodic table, hydrogen peroxide (B), an aromatic hydrocarbon compound (C) containing a carbon-containing substituent, and a compound (D) having a pKa in the range of 0.5-4.2 in 25°C aqueous solution, and reacting under conditions satisfying the following (α) and (β); (α) a mass ratio ((D)/(A)) of the compound (D) to the metal element in the silicate compound (A) is 0.1-25 mass% ; (β) the molar ratio ((B)/(C)) of the hydrogen peroxide (B) to the aromatic hydrocarbon compound (C) is 1/150-10/1.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】従来の製造方法に比べて高い選択率および高い収率で芳香族ヒドロキシ化合物を製造する方法を提供すること。【解決手段】周期表の3~5族および13~15族からなる群より選ばれる金属元素を含むシリケート(A)と、過酸化水素(B)と、含炭素置換基を含有する芳香族炭化水素化合物(C)と、25℃水溶液でのpKaが0.5~4.2の範囲内である化合物(D)とを接触させて、かつ、下記(α)および(β)の要件を満たす条件で反応させる工程を含む芳香族ヒドロキシ化合物の製造方法;(α)前記シリケート化合物(A)中の金属元素に対する前記化合物(D)の質量比((D)/(A))が0.1~25質量%である;(β)前記芳香族炭化水素化合物(C)に対する前記過酸化水素(B)のモル比((B)/(C))が1/150~10/1である。【選択図】なし
