To provide an instrument for a catalyst coating machine capable of making it difficult to form a coated layer of a catalyst on an inner peripheral surface of an outer cylinder extension part.SOLUTION: An instrument for a catalyst coating machine for a honeycomb substrate 34 of an exhaust gas purification catalyst has a flexible cylindrical partition member 72, is interpolated into a metal outer cylinder 32 having an axial length longer than a metal honeycomb substrate. and is used when a catalyst slurry containing a catalyst metal is coated to the honeycomb substrate supported in a state where an axial direction is disposed in a vertical direction by the outer cylinder. The partition member has the outer peripheral surface disposed facing an inner peripheral surface of an outer cylinder extension part 33a of the outer cylinder that protrudes to the upper side with respect to an upper end surface 34a of the honeycomb substrate. When the catalyst slurry is supplied to the upper end surface of the honeycomb substrate and the inside of the inner peripheral surface of the partition member, a lower end of the partition member is disposed in close proximity to the upper end surface of the honeycomb substrate so as to inhibit the catalyst slurry from coig into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the outer cylinder extension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】外筒延長部の内周面に触媒の塗工層を形成し難くすることが可能な触媒塗工装置用の器具を提供すること。【解決手段】排出ガス浄化触媒のハニカム基材３４への触媒塗工装置用の器具は、可撓性を有する筒状の仕切部材７２を有し、金属製のハニカム基材よりも軸長が長い金属製の外筒３２に内挿され、該外筒によって軸方向を上下方向に配置した状態に支持される前記ハニカム基材に対して触媒金属を含む触媒スラリーを塗工するときに用いる。前記仕切部材は、その外周面を前記ハニカム基材の上端面３４ａに対して上側に突出する前記外筒の外筒延長部３３ａの内周面に対向して配置される。前記ハニカム基材の上端面、かつ、前記仕切部材の内周面の内側に対して前記触媒スラリーが供給されたとき、該触媒スラリーが前記外筒延長部の内周面に接触することを抑制するように、前記仕切部材の下端が、前記ハニカム基材の上端面に近接して配置される。【選択図】図５
